Sanford Glazer

Sanford “Sandy” Glazer, age 95, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 29, 2026, while doing what he loved most—working in his yard. Born to the late William and Gertrude Glazer, Sandy lived a long, full, and happy life centered on family, hard work, and service to his country. A proud United States Army veteran, Sandy honorably served during the Korean War as a Combat Engineer. His military service reflected the dedication, resilience, and patriotism that he carried throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Eileen Glazer, whose sudden passing in 2010 left a void in his life that was never fully filled. Sandy and Eileen were proud residents of Lyndhurst for 62 years, where they raised their family and built a lifetime of memories. He was the devoted father of Wendy Glazer; Debbie Campbell (Dave, deceased); Rhonda Farkosh (Gary); Shari Palumbo; and Laurie Marks (Robert). He was a proud grandfather of Nicole (Kurt) Litterst, Christina Campbell, Jesse (Stacey) Campbell, Jennifer Farkosh, Matthew Farkosh, Michael (Laura) Palumbo, Christopher (Emily) Palumbo, Allyson Marks, Ryan Marks, Johnathan Marks, and Julia Marks, and a great-grandfather of eight. Being a grandfather and great-grandfather was a role that brought him much pride throughout his life. Sandy was preceded in death by his brother, Albert Glazer, and sister-in-law, Betty Glazer. He is lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews: Neil (Vera) Glazer, Karen Forbes (Scott, deceased), and Tammy Levine (Joe) of Arizona. He was the son-in-law of the late Moses “Jack” Weiss and the late Shirley Weiss. He is survived by his brothers-in-law, Allan Weiss (Serene) and Stuart Weiss of Colorado and was a beloved uncle to Halle Weiss-Hearn (RJ). He was preceded in death by his nephew, Todd Weiss, and brothers-in-law Frank Weiss and SPC Howard Weiss, who was killed in action during the Vietnam War. Sandy retired at age 75 from Glazer Electric, the business he proudly owned and operated for many years. He believed in earning everything through determination, hard work, and perseverance, values he carried throughout his life. A gifted gardener, Sandy took enormous pride in his yard, which was admired throughout the neighborhood and often considered the envy of his neighbors. Whether planting, pruning, or simply enjoying the beauty he created, he found peace outdoors. He also loved gathering family around the grill and never hesitated to spoil his beloved German Shepherds, Chloe and Taffy, even treating them to rib steaks on occasion. Those who knew Sandy will remember his strong work ethic, quiet generosity, unwavering devotion to family, and deep love of country. His legacy lives on through the family he loved, the values he instilled, and the many lives he touched throughout his 95 years. Private graveside services were held for the immediate family. In accordance with the wishes of the Glazer family, there will be no visitation.
