All Wood Caskets

In Judaism, the body must return to the earth. That is why Jewish Law requires an all natural wood casket with no metal hinges, nails or ornate designs be  used.  The wood may be polished or not. The simplicity of the casket teaches us that we are all equal in death, and according to rabbinic scholars it is wiser to donate money to charity rather than spend it on extravagant caskets and funerals.
